Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well many people around the world are entering Christmas already so like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hope everyone will have a great time ^__^

On another note, seems like some Weekly Shounen Jump fans will be getting a nice xmas present... Next week's Jump is showing up already and so there will be a good chance to possibly see all the chapters early then. And this early issue also marks the return of Hunter x Hunter!! So that is also a great present to some of you.

However since the scheduling around this time is usually a bit messed up.... if things go back on track after this issue, that would mean there won't be a WSJ release for 2 more week since this issue is also an issue that accounts for 2 weeks (double issue). We'll have to keep on eye on how things go there

Anyhow, you should all be going out and enjoying the festivities instead of reading manga =P

No Weekly Jump For Two Weeks (UPDATED)

——————————————————————————–
There will be no issue of Weekly Jump for two weeks
(12/20 – 12/26) because of the holidays.

Don’t forget: When Jump comes back in two weeks, Hunter x Hunter will return from hiatus!

Update:

Some of you may noticed that One Piece spoilers are out already, here is why:

Scanlated Weekly Jump series are posted to Mangahelpers before they are on sale in Japan. WSJ goes on sale every Monday, as most of you know the big 3 are now available online the preceding Wednesday. The actual week off is next week (12/28), that effects Mangahelpers this week. In order to have issues to subscribers and stores on time Jump is printed about a week before the issue goes on sale. That is why spoilers come when they do, they are generally posted by someone at the printer or insiders at Shueisha. Because Christmas and New Years both fall on a Friday, issue 5 – 6 (on sale 1/4) has already been printed. I don’t know if any more spoilers will be coming, they may, they may not. As of right now assume scanlations will not come out until the middle of next week.

What makes Bleach Anime so good?

I've always liked stories about the afterlife, thinking what will happen to us after we die, and it has been a big question not only for me but for all existing humanity. Many beliefs, theories, and studies have been made just to solve the mystery behind death.

But unexpectedly, I've heard from a friend that there is an anime entitled bleach which is all about the afterlife story.
Its setting was called Soul Society and characters are called Shinigami (Death God).
I didn't know why the title itself was called Bleach. well, I just ignored it.
For I'm just interested on how the Death God's role in the story would function and what is behind the world of souls.
From that point on, everything fell into place.

I know that Bleach is really popular nowadays, and as a die hard fan I intend to keep track on bleach in the upcoming animes and mangas.

What is it about Bleach that makes it really good?
It's one of those things about the popular manga/anime we don't even know why we love it. Although some people are just interested because its a popular manga.

Unlike me, I came up with many reasons why I should continue watching Bleach.

First- Character designs and concepts (style): Bleach is full of a wide variety of characters each with his or her own character traits and personality type. Almost any type of character can be found in bleach making it a manga where everyone can find a character they like.
I really enjoyed getting to know them all little by little and also their personalities were so consistent, with an anti-hero, a cute buxom love interest, an immovable man of honor, and then the nerdy knowledgeable guy. They were archetypes but they were done so well it was hard not to like them, then of course you have the sexy mysterious shopkeeper.

Second- Story ideas and concepts: The concept of the soul society and how shinigami look, act and even what they use as weapons is a stand alone original concept, this even goes for the deities known as hollows and arrancars and the world of (hueco mundo) in which they live.

Third- battle and fight scenes: The intensity of the fights scenes and how they are portrayed in the manga, demonstrates how great the author Tite Kubo is and illustrating epic battles between two characters. Cool sound effects(especially during intense fight scenes) and also how the author incorporates the effects into the art.

Fourth- ability and powers: Every character has their own abilities, some unique and some that are basically for most characters (shinigami- kido and flash step, arrancar and hollows- cero, heirro, sonido).

below are previews of bleach character unique abilities:

Lastly- seriousness and humor: The manga gives off a serious dark tone and often involves many concepts about life that are teen-adult appropriate, such as illustrating the darkside off humanity and life, even so much humor is present within the manga and many characters are used as a comic relief characters.

For those who haven't seen the anime bleach series.
You guys are being nonchalant being like that won't get you nowhere :)
I dare you, you won't regret watching this popular anime.

Christmas Spirit

This week I'm actually feeling the spirit of Christmas getting closer to us. It's not pitch black when I go to the office in the evening. It's only really dark, but that's NOT a problem as every house, street and building have a good colorful lights, Which by the way because of a C and L.

Due to it’s long Christian traditions, Christmas is a very important part of the Filipino culture, and the Philippines has one of the most interesting traditions in the world of observing the Christmas holiday. They are noted for having the longest Christmas holiday in the Christian world, sometimes beginning as early as September and not ending until the first Sunday in January, Three Kings’ Day.

However, the official start of the Christmas holiday in the Republic of the Philippines is December 16th, when the “misas de aguinaldo”, or “Gift Masses”, begin extremely early in the morning every day for nine consecutive days. These masses are very important to millions of people in the Philippines. Sometimes these masses may even start as early as 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning. Those devout Christians are encouraged to attend each mass for those nine days, not missing any as a demonstration of their faith and devotion.

On December 24th, the Filipino people also celebrate “la misa de gallo”, or the “Mass of the Rooster”. The rooster is used to refer to the rooster crowing at the sun at dawn. The “misa de gallo” is the final mass of the nine consecutive early morning masses, and is the official start of the Christmas day.

La Noche Buena, the Christmas feast, is an integral part of the Christmas holiday in the Philippines. The star of the Filipino Christmas meal is the giant ball of cheese and the juicy Christmas ham, but only for the few who can afford it. In many parts of the Philippines, in the run up to Christmas, children roam from house to house singing carols, just as children do in other parts of the world. Due to the poverty level, those extra few pesos can make a big difference to a many a Filipino family.

The Christmas celebration continues all the way through New Years Eve and New Years Day to January 6, which is the Three Kings’ Day. It’s party time and fireworks on Christmas Eve and new Year’s Eve, when people have fun and, apart from the fireworks, make loud noises to celebrate the New Year, as well as ward off any bad spirits that may be trying to enter. At midnight on New Year’s Eve, Filipino families get together and partake in a New Year’s feast together to celebrate the coming of a brand new year. This is a time of great superstition in this country, children are seen jumping up at midnight in hopes that they will grow taller in the new year.

All in all, Christmas is more religious and less material than in other parts of the world, but I wonder if that would be the case if people were not so poor.
