What makes Bleach Anime so good?

I've always liked stories about the afterlife, thinking what will happen to us after we die, and it has been a big question not only for me but for all existing humanity. Many beliefs, theories, and studies have been made just to solve the mystery behind death.

But unexpectedly, I've heard from a friend that there is an anime entitled bleach which is all about the afterlife story.
Its setting was called Soul Society and characters are called Shinigami (Death God).
I didn't know why the title itself was called Bleach. well, I just ignored it.
For I'm just interested on how the Death God's role in the story would function and what is behind the world of souls.
From that point on, everything fell into place.

I know that Bleach is really popular nowadays, and as a die hard fan I intend to keep track on bleach in the upcoming animes and mangas.

What is it about Bleach that makes it really good?
It's one of those things about the popular manga/anime we don't even know why we love it. Although some people are just interested because its a popular manga.

Unlike me, I came up with many reasons why I should continue watching Bleach.

First- Character designs and concepts (style): Bleach is full of a wide variety of characters each with his or her own character traits and personality type. Almost any type of character can be found in bleach making it a manga where everyone can find a character they like.
I really enjoyed getting to know them all little by little and also their personalities were so consistent, with an anti-hero, a cute buxom love interest, an immovable man of honor, and then the nerdy knowledgeable guy. They were archetypes but they were done so well it was hard not to like them, then of course you have the sexy mysterious shopkeeper.

Second- Story ideas and concepts: The concept of the soul society and how shinigami look, act and even what they use as weapons is a stand alone original concept, this even goes for the deities known as hollows and arrancars and the world of (hueco mundo) in which they live.

Third- battle and fight scenes: The intensity of the fights scenes and how they are portrayed in the manga, demonstrates how great the author Tite Kubo is and illustrating epic battles between two characters. Cool sound effects(especially during intense fight scenes) and also how the author incorporates the effects into the art.

Fourth- ability and powers: Every character has their own abilities, some unique and some that are basically for most characters (shinigami- kido and flash step, arrancar and hollows- cero, heirro, sonido).

Lastly- seriousness and humor: The manga gives off a serious dark tone and often involves many concepts about life that are teen-adult appropriate, such as illustrating the darkside off humanity and life, even so much humor is present within the manga and many characters are used as a comic relief characters.
